Martin and Chervonne Magao were beyond excited about adding three new members to their Magao family team. They were impatient to introduce their 6-year-old son Tanner to his three younger brothers.
However, what was supposed to be one of the happiest events in their lives turned into one of the saddest. Aayden, Blaise, and Carson survived the delivery, but Chervonne didn’t make it. She suffered an amniotic fluid embolism and there was nothing the doctors could do for her.
The New Zealand Herald which brought the story to the public first said, “The condition happens when amniotic fluid — which surrounds a baby in the uterus during pregnancy and contains products such as cells, hair, urine, and secretions from the babies — enters the mother’s bloodstream.”
The whole family was completely heartbroken. However, they had no time for mourning, the triplet babies needed their attention and help!
Five months have passed since the birth of the Magao triplets and their dad Martin now wishes to thank his community and all the people who supported and helped him when he was in need.
Martin’s and Chervonne’s friends have started a GoFundMe page in order to help Martin and his four sons.
This is what they wrote:
“With a heavy heart, it pains us to announce that Chervonne Magaoa (nee Smith) sadly passed away Thursday evening while giving birth to her triplet sons.
During an emergency C-section she experienced an amniotic fluid embolism.
She is survived by her loving husband Martin, beautiful six-year old son Tanner and thankfully, her three new baby boys.
Everyone that knows Chervonne can attest to her witty humor, her true friendship and her fierce love and devotion to her family.
We ask that you please donate what you can to help Chervonne’s family at this truly devastating time.
Funds will be used to cover these unexpected funeral expenses.
Excess funds will be used to help Martin and their four young sons as they, and the rest of Chervonne’s family and friends, adjust to life without dear Chervonne.”
Even though dealing with Chervonne’s passing was in no way easy for her family, they had to put their pain aside because they had three baby boys to take care of.
It wasn’t easy, but the boys also helped Martin overcome his grief and he adores looking after them.
The babies were born in August and since then around 50 people volunteered to help Martin with the babies.
They arranged 6am to 10pm shifts to make sure that Martin had all the help he could need throughout the day.
Playing and cuddling with the babies, changing diapers, feeding the kids, the good people made sure everything was done and taken care of.
Furthermore, they took notes of everything they did – they would write down the babies’ weight, sleeping and eating patterns and times, and so on.
Now Martin would like to thank everyone for their unwavering support and help which was crucial for him and the boys during the past couple of months.
The boys are growing up fast and doing great, and a simple “thank you” can’t even start to describe how grateful Martin is to all the volunteers and friends.
The GoFundMe page, which was started some four months ago, has managed gather the donations from more than 1,200 people.
That amounts to over $73,000 to this date.
If you wish to show support to Martin and his boys, please share the article with you friends and family, and donate if you can!
